Classic Wooden Caskets

Wooden Caskets are finely crafted from solid hardwood or veneer, then finished in gloss or satin. Hardwood caskets are usually more expensive, while veneered caskets are generally more affordable. A typical hardwood casket takes 130 - 150 board feet of lumber to manufacture.

Wooden caskets can be produced with single or double raised lids while metal caskets generally only have single rounded lids.

Wooden caskets are assembled by highly skilled craftsmen, as some caskets require intricate designed carving. Caskets are then sanded for painting or staining. For some premium wooden caskets are required to stain by hand. An additional procedure of hand-polishing is also needed to achieve a glossy shiny finish.
